After waking up a little earlier than I like to on the weekend, I decided to make the best of my morning and drive to Virginia to photograph the turning of the leaves. The mountains are always a beautiful site in the fall, with their lush reds, oranges and yellows. I bundled up, filled my tank, turned on my folk/bluegrass music and drove up the mountain.
I was a little disappointed to see that either because of all the rain lately or perhaps because it’s still a little early in the season, the leaves weren’t nearly as crisp and bright as I had hoped for. I didn’t want the trip to be wasted though, so I decided to stop into my favorite antique shop in Cana, Virginia, called Vintage Rose Antiques. Sweet Kathy was inside with her little dog and let me walk around and photograph some of the amazing things around the shop. If I had an endless amount of money to decorate my house with anything I’d like, I’m sure that 99% of the things inside would come from this little store.
I am a sucker for wrought iron – and this sign pretty much illustrates everything about this antique shop. (If you saw this post before I edited it, you might have noticed that I spelled ‘wrought’ as ‘rod’ – just one of those words you never realize is wrong until you go to think about it and decide to look it up. Kinda like curve and curb!)

Love this old scale and the colors from rusty paint.

Just some pretty stones.

Look at this scale! Could it even be any more elegant?!

This photo reminds me of my father, so of course I adored it.

I don’t know which I love more – the skates of the travel case they’re in.

Of course, nothing can be vintage without Ms. Monroe.

I can’t help but think of Andy’s mother when I see this photo. Both the colors and the dining ware are so her!

…and Andy. We own plenty of vintage Coke products.

Love the colors of this, and the gear in the foreground.

Classy.

I even saw a real cowboy on my visit!

A vital part of the south – this beautiful old Bible.

Vintage and Antique kitchen goodies!
