Danielle first contacted me a few weeks ago.  Her email explained that she had moved into her first home, away from her family, in a different state.  Her family had previously owned a roller skating rink in Indiana and she wanted to badly to find a piece of her past to fit into her home.  According to Danielle, she had searched the internet over and finally come to a photo I had taken while on a random trip to Virginia last autumn.  She explained that it was perfect, colors and all, and wanted to know if I would sell her a print.

Of course I was flattered and said “of course!”  Of course…under one condition.  That she photographed it hanging in her new home and would send me a photo!  Last week, I received that photo and seriously?  It made my day.  The framing is from an old window frame and when she explained it to me (while the photo was in the frame shop), it sounded perfect.  But seeing it?  She wasn’t lying!  Here is the photo that Danielle ordered and the photo of it hanging in her new home.  Isn’t it perfect?!

Danielle, I am so glad I could be a part of your history.  I hope every time you look at the photo that it brings a smile to your face and all of the amazing and carefree memories from your childhood come flooding back!

I wish I could say I haven’t updated because I’ve been on some exotic vacation, but I can’t.  The truth is, I’ve been a BUSY BEE for the past few weeks.  Even on holidays and my days “off”, I’ve been working straight through the day.  I can’t complain, though – because I am meeting some of the best people ever, enjoying great company and getting things done.

I think one thing I’m most excited about in recent happenings are my tomato plants!  I have never been a fan of those pink faux-matoes you get throughout the year and can hardly wait to sink my teeth into a fresh from the garden, home grown tomato!  I have been eating tomato sandwiches and BLTs for a week straight and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it.  Ah, the simple pleasures in life!

Last weekend I had another boudoir shootout, which you can see more of over at my boudoir website - simply-boudoir.  Here is a sneak peek, though:

Also, I put together another set of Photoshop actions that I use in my boudoir workflow.  They are a quite bit different than my last set of actions, as they are a bit more soft and romantic.  You don’t have to shoot boudoir photos to use these actions, but I really love the way they work on boudoir shots.  For those interested, here are the actions with the ‘buy it now’ button below.  They work in Photoshop CS2 and up and there are 4 actions in the set for $20.

This post is probably geared more towards Photographers than anyone else, so feel free to scroll on down if you aren’t interested in the technical stuff! :)

I have been asked a lot lately what I use on my photos to get the colors and flare that I do.  95% of the time, my sun flare is completely natural straight out of the camera.  Other times, I enhance it a bit with actions.  It really depends on what mood I want my photo to take on.

I have created a set of 5 Photoshop Actions for those interested in purchasing.  They are $25 for a set of 5 and very simple and easy to use.  If you’d like to purchase them but know nothing about how to use them, I would be more than happy to give you a small tutorial.  Scroll down below the photos for the ‘Buy Now’ button with easy checkout!

And another photo I edited with my actions. I adore how this one came out.

I am a huge believer of loving the small things in life. Reading between the lines, that amazing things come in small packages and it doesn’t take much to make me happy. That’s why when I received my sample mini-accordion albums yesterday, I was smiling from ear to ear and radiating simple joy.

The albums are PERFECT for any shoot. Simple, small, magnetic so they stay closed well and the print quality is amazing. I can come up with a thousand ideas you could do with these, but I will leave that to you. Since I like simple, if I had one made (besides my samples), I would just have one on the bookcase and perhaps one on my desk at work. It’s a nice, compact way to showcase a few of your best photos and easy to carry around in your purse or pocket to show off, too!

Albums come in either 2.5×3.5 or 3×3 dimensions.  They also come in custom covers or cloth on either size, with plenty of cloth colors to choose from.  The 2.5×3.5 books come with 12 image sides and the 3×3 books come with 10 sides.

I made this 2.5×3.5 album with a custom image cover and metallic paper, which gives it a small sheen.

My 3×3 album is a cream cloth and linen paper.  I LOVE this paper!  It has a slight linen texture that feels sturdy and unique.

This is a close up of the linen texture.  Glorious.

The sun caught the sheen on the custom cover album just perfect.
