Cindy is a stylist at my salon. From the first day I saw her, I’ve wanted to photograph her. Does that sound creepy? Maybe, but look at her! She’s very sweet and easy to talk to, and beautiful to boot. I was beyond excited when she hired me to photograph her maternity photos. I’ve known for months that she was pregnant, and may have sent her a message along the way showing interest in photographing her maternity session. I secretly wished from the beginning that she would hire me to do so.  Cindy only has a few weeks left and is very excited, along with her husband, to welcome their little boy into the world. This shoot was really fun and we had a beautiful place to shoot thanks to a connection my MUA made with one of her clients. The photos are a surprise for the father-to-be for Father’s Day and I cannot wait to hear what he thinks.

For now, let me know what YOU think! Isn’t she just radiant?

Cindy, thank you for hiring me to photograph this personal time in your life – you were a complete doll and I just know your gentleness and patience will carry over into motherhood to make you an amazing mother. I cannot wait to meet your little man!

Simple, yet stunning.

I LOVED this dress my MUA, Heather, let us borrow.  It was perfect for a maternity shoot!

Workin’ it!

There were fresh roses EVERYWHERE and the yard smelled divine!

Personally, prom was never a big deal for me.  I went to my Senior prom and left about an hour later.  It was way over-rated, but perhaps that had to do more with the hardships that my senior year had brought my way.

At any rate, I think it could be lots of fun.  A chance to get dressed up with your closest friends, have a good dinner, dance and be silly.  The group of friends featured in this post did just that.  What I love most about them was the obvious difference in them as people.  Different backgrounds, skin colors, religions – yet, all so accepting of each other.  They are a group of great kids and Katie, whom is an aspiring photographer (and very good, might I add!) asked me to photograph them last weekend before their dinner reservations.  We only had a little under an hour, and it was my first time shooting a prom setting, but I had a blast!  Thank you for trusting me with your cool photos, Katie and friends – and I hope you enjoyed them and your prom alike!

I have had trouble with where to start this blog post.  Do I start with how they met?  How I know them?  What role they play in my and Andy’s life?  In all of these cases, I always come back to the point that what matters is where they are now.  What a magical, beautiful and perfect couple they are today.

I will state that Thomas is Andy’s childhood best friend.  They’ve grown up together and eventually, Andy and I met through Thomas.  Only a year later, Melina came into Thomas’ life.  2 weeks ago, friends and family from both sides had the pleasure to spend a week in beautiful Cherry Grove, South Carolina to watch these two promise their lives to each other.  It was a week full of laughs, reminiscing of old memories and making new ones, tears and a LOT of fun.  The wedding day was flawless and I don’t think there was a dry tear on the beach that day.  It was simple, as they are.  It involved their closest friends, just as their lives always have.  It was a week long celebration, and I think it really reflected how selfless and fun these two really are.

Melina and Thomas – you two are a beautiful and inspiring couple. Young, fun, sincere and great friends to both each other and your peers. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to capture this day for you. You were both radiant and I wish you nothing but the best for the rest of your lives and beyond!

Now, for lots and lots of pictures!  As posted before, Melina and Thomas also did a Trash the Dress session, which will be posted soon!  For now, the wedding!

Thomas, his friends and father.

Melina and her baby, Tito!

Such a simple yet stunning bride.

I loved this moment of Thomas patiently waiting and trying to stop the tears before the wedding.

Fact: Thomas is very tech savvy and both enjoy gaming and computers – so I found this setup to be fitting.

Thomas and his handsome brothers.

My favorite shot from the day.  I love the energy and everything about this moment.

Looking quite dapper!

There is no better way to get married – feet in the sand and barefoot!

Perfection.

I am sorry I have been M.I.A. for the past week or so.  I have been thoroughly enjoying a much needed vacation while shooting an amazingly fun and beautiful engagement/wedding/trash the dress in beautiful Cherry Grove, South Carolina.

I will be returning all calls and emails this week, and a full update soon, but for now, I’ll leave you with this!
