July 14h, 2008 - Engagement & Family

Posted by Stacey on June 18, 2008. Filled under Photos, Portraiture.

I had the pleasure of shooting a nice family and engagement portrait session with a soon to be bride and groom and their three children - Vance, Zac and Brad. We did the shoot at the bride’s mother’s quaint little farm in wheat fields as far as you can see and though small storms moved in, I think we’re all extremely pleased with the outcome. The family was beyond amazing and fun and I had a blast shooting them. Thank you again, you guys, and I cannot wait to shoot your wedding on the 4th!

Leann. Isn’t she a natural beauty?

Mike, being a big ham - and doing it so well!

Handsome Brad!

Handsome Vance!

Aren’t they stunning together?

Booger

Posted by Stacey on April 26, 2008. Filled under Animals, Personal update, Photos.

This is my cat, Booger. She is 15 years old and the apple of my eye. Yes, I am one of “those” crazy cat ladies.I got Booger when she was about 2 weeks old and I was 8. My father had taken my sister and I to put flowers on our grandparents grave and then we drove to another to put flowers on his brother’s grave. When we got out we heard a tiny kitten sound and when I looked under the van, there she was.

Booger and I became best friends. We have a bond that I have never, ever experienced with another animal and doubt I ever will again. We read each other and that connection was only between us. When my father became too ill to work and began staying home during the day, she started taking up with him a bit more. He took up for her like he never had another cat and I’m sure they shared their own special bond. She was there with him until the very end and now, I’m sure we are sharing the same loss for my father.

She’s getting quite old and it’s showing in her loss of hair and teeth. She’s pretty frail but still as tough on the inside and responsive and loyal as ever. I took these photos of her today and cannot wait to have them framed and hung in my home. I see her every day, but she truly is a beautiful soul that I’m thankful for, and to me, these aren’t just any picture of a cat. They are photos of my best friend and I will treasure them forever.

Buchanan-Couch Wedding

Posted by Stacey on April 21, 2008. Filled under Photos, Wedding.

On Saturday, April 19th, I shot a wedding in Greensboro, NC. The bride, Jade, should become licensed in teaching brides how to be calm, cool and relaxed on their wedding days, because she completely nailed it. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever been to and I think everyone laughed just as much as they cried, including myself. The groom, Corey, was just a complete joy to work with, as was Jade. He complimented her so well and made sure she knew how amazing she was and how grateful he is for her. They were both up for anything I asked them to do and I don’t think the day could have gone any better! Jade and Corey, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of such a special day and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you!

First, a stop at the salon for a small cut and style.

A dear friend to the both of us, Whitney, did her makeup - and what an amazing job she did!

The flowers were beyond amazing and imported from another country! I will have a link to the florist as soon as I get it!

Janelle - Going Platinum

Posted by Stacey on April 13, 2008. Filled under Photos, Portraiture.

So one of my all-time favorite models, but also an amazing friend, Janelle, has decided to go Platinum. You may remember her as the fierce redhead that I’ve shot before, and boy what a change. As soon as I heard she what she had done, I knew I had to get some shots, with a “high key” idea in mind.  She pulls it off perfectly, don’t you think?!

First wedding of 2008!

Posted by Stacey on February 23, 2008. Filled under Photos, Wedding.

I photographed my first 2008 wedding today, Mr. and Mrs. Power. The ceremony and reception were held at George K’s in Greensboro, NC. The wedding was simple and quite beautiful and the food was fantastic. Our great friend Janelle was Dusti’s makeup artist and her mother was gracious enough to let us borrow her Barracuda for a few shots! Another congrats to the lovely couple, and best wishes for the future!
